A great example of a rare and extra-special model, from Gibson's brief period of thirteen frets-to-the-body, in between in the progression from 12 to 14 fret flattops. They were taking it step-by-step - very unusual for Gibson! The back and sides are a very beautiful Brazilian rosewood, making this guitar extra rare. Nick Lucas (the first guitar endorser) loved small guitars with extra deep bodies, while the size, shapes bracing and scale length changed over the dozen or so years the model remained in production, they were all deep bodied. The top and back were refinished by Dale Fairbanks to a sunburst that challenges the original for beauty, with an excellent setup with plenty of saddle showing. There are three minor cracks in the top, repaired to near invisibility. The bridge is new, the braces are all original and beautiful.

As typical of the period, construction is very light, giving the guitar a rich, open tone, then add in the special tonal benefits whenever Gibson used rosewood.

Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
