The new standard in powered cabs for guitar
TONEX Cab represents the next step in IK Multimedia's relentless pursuit of tonal perfection. Born from the same innovative drive that introduced the world’s most advanced AI machine modeling, TONEX Cab ensures that every nuance of your digital (or analog) rig shines onstage, setting a new standard for FRFR powered cabinets. It bridges the gap between digital precision and authentic amp-like sound, delivering unmatched realism to TONEX Tone Models and other professional amp modelers or capture systems.

Setting a new standard
Guitar players are used to playing live through guitar amps and not wedges or PA systems, which differ greatly in how they respond, resonate, and interact with their playing. Guitar amps positioned on the floor played at high volume have a totally different type of response than the one offered by a standard FRFR-designed cab or PA, let alone a low-cost one. Additionally, Tone Models, captures and IR responses are all obtained through recording with a microphone in close contact with the guitar speaker. This is not how guitar players on stage typically hear their instruments at high volumes.

That’s why Tone Models reproduced by FRFR from repurposed wedges or PA speakers tend to sound thin, harsh and unbalanced, and they don’t provide the mojo experience that the superior quality of Tone Models provides.

TONEX Cab solves all of this with a radically different design approach. It uses a series of unique, clever solutions and advanced DSP control to overcome current FRFR limitations and offer the best possible amplification of TONEX Tone Models or any other capture system or modeler. Thus, it sets a new standard for guitar amplification that stands out from anything else on the market.

Finally, amp-in-the-room tone and feel
Thanks to its unique DSP algorithms, TONEX Cab’s exclusive AMP TONE control allows you to dial in the perfect amount of real amp feel and response to any room. It achieves this through precision control over the custom high-wattage Celestion 12'' guitar speaker and 1'' high-performance compression driver, both working in concert to deliver the optimal resonance and sound dispersion players expect from a real cab. Combined with a real plywood cabinet, this results in a playing experience that feels alive and responsive, where every note blooms and sustains just like a traditional amp, with all the benefits of digital precision.

Ultra-portable and powerful
TONEX Cab is the most compact 12'' powered cab in its class, leaving extra room in the van to pack two for stereo or to travel lighter. Despite its minimal size, the TONEX Cab delivers true 350 W RMS / 700 W Peak Class-D power. Its advanced DSP control delivers true-amp sound at any volume, reaching an astonishing 132 dB Max SPL for low-end punch and clarity at any volume. While packing all this power, with the XLR output, you can easily link multiple cabs for even more power at larger venues.

Amplify any rig anywhere
We designed TONEX Cab to be the perfect companion for amplifying the tonal richness, dynamics and feel of TONEX Tone Models, which the market has recognized as the best capture models available today. TONEX Cab works equally well with any other digital amp sims, adding muscle, articulation and a rich multi-dimensional sound that makes playing live an electrifying and immersive experience.

Its onboard IR loader lets you connect analog preamps directly to the cab or save your modeler DSP power by removing the IR block. Its precision drivers work perfectly with acoustic guitars and other audio instruments and ensure that time-based effects shine with studio-quality clarity and detail.

Pro-level features
TONEX Cab offers plug-and-play simplicity with additional pro features for more complex rigs. Features include a 3-band EQ for quickly dialing in your tone to a specific room without having to edit each preset. Eight memory slots can also store both EQ settings and custom IRs, which you can control via the built-in MIDI I/O for advanced live rigs or by selecting the desired preset.

On stage to FOH
TONEX Cab makes it easy to customize your tone on stage or for the front of house (FOH). The balanced audio output can be pre- or post-EQ/IR for cab linking or sending your tone to FOH. Use the AUX IN to monitor a band mix or play backing tracks to jam along. With its flexible routing options, you can fine-tune your setup for any gig, big or small.

Stereo and stacking
With two or more TONEX Cabs, your setup becomes even more versatile. Use two amp Tone Models to create a lush, immersive tone with spacious, time-based effects. Or build a wet/dry rig to control your direct/FX signal mix and keep your core tone clear and focused. Stack multiple cabs for a massive wall of sound and increased headroom to ensure your tone stays punchy and powerful, no matter the venue size.

Designed to inspire
The TONEX Cab's Italian design and finish give it a timeless yet modern look under any spotlight. The integrated tilt-back legs let you angle the cab and direct the sound, which is optimal for hearing yourself better in small or dense sound stages. Swappable optional grills make it easy to customize your rig’s appearance or keep track of different TONEX Cabs between bandmates or when running stereo rigs.

Bundled software
TONEX Cab includes a dedicated editor for managing and loading presets and IRs. It also includes TONEX SE, the most popular capture software program with 200 Premium Tone Models, unlimited user downloads via Tone.NET, and AmpliTube SE for a complete tone-shaping experience.
