1917 Lyon & Healy #6 Style Special Mandola
This beautiful. probably one-of-a-kind mandola is one of the earliest Lyon & Healy carved violin scroll peghead instruments. It is designated “Style Special” with serial #6 and is very much like the Style A, but with a few exceptional unique features. It is the only such mandolin family instrument, with a completely natural finish, flame maple back, sides and hefty 3-piece flame maple neck, that we have ever encountered. It is also completely original and crack free with all original hardware, in excellent condition. The pickguard is stamped “PAT APL'D FOR” which leads us to believe that it predates those that are stamped “Pat 11-12-18”.
This rare mandola plays easily with minimal fret wear and is housed in a custom “alligator” hard shell case. The sound is rich and full.
Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader.
