1930 C.F. Martin OM-28, #42081. This is a great sounding guitar from the first batch of OM-28's that featured belly bridges. It has some very old repair work including a headstock crack and an 18" side crack repair on the bass side but there are no top or back cracks. The entire guitar was oversprayed many years ago but has been played a lot since then. There is strumming wear through the top finish, lots of nicks and scratches, and the initials MTM were scratched (lightly) into the headstock face. It has its original bridge pins. The endpin is an unusual short ebony pin that is probably not original but it's old and fits well. This is a great playing small guard OM-28, very loud and full with great bass extension and good treble definition. In a new Collings vintage replica case (discontinued, were $900. dealer cost and now are going for $1500-$2K). Greig Hutton mentions on the UMGF (2/21/14) that OM-28 #42070 was the first OM-28 with a belly bridge, in April 1930; this guitar would have been in the same batch. Eichelbaum work: Neck reset, refret with bar frets, replace tuners, original '30 Martin belly bridge.
This OM-28 was one of those abandoned guitars that sat in a closet in Vacaville CA for ages. I'd seen it years ago, but it took around 10-15 years before I was able to finally offer it for sale. It's now back a second time, beautifully set-up and sounding incredible.

Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
